(ID)

So this unit of English 12 began with poetry and I absolutely hate poetry. I hate it because I always have nothing to talk about. I've hated poetry since the 5th grade and every year since then I've gotten a lesson based on poetry. I was put at ease when I found out we weren't actually writing poetry but just reading and analyzing it. When I have a lesson I don't like it make is hard for me to understand and do the work that's given, but I do it anyway because everything counts towards my grade. But that lesson was last week and this week we are looking in to Shakespeare an his play hamlet. I don't mind this lesson because Shakespeare's plays are really interesting. I've only read two of his plays Othello and Romeo and Juliet, both of them were class assignments but I probably would have never read them on my own time. Yesterday we had to translate a conversation into Shakespeare's time period's language. It was pretty cool doing that. We also had a lesson on saying the different moods of O's I think we should have more interactive lessons like that to keep students engaged.

If Loving You Is Wrong by Tyler Perry

One of my favorite shows of 2014 is If Loving You Is Wrong by Tyler Perry. It is like the ghetto version of Desperate Housewives. It is about 6 different families that each have there own set of problems. I like this show because its interesting and it leaves the viewer wanting more and more with each episode. The theme of this show would be lies and deceit. One of the story lines is about this husband and wife named Alex and Brad who are like  high school sweethearts but the spark in the relationship has died and the wife has turned to infidelity and the person she's sleeping with just happens to be her husbands best friend(OMG). I think this is interesting because this woman has almost a perfect life she has a husband who loves her, two healthy children, and everything is provided for but it still isn't enough. This reminds me of the time in the matrix when agent smith was talking about how the humans rejected the perfect world and only responded to misery and suffering. Many of the characters do this throughout the story and that's what make it interesting. Maybe that's why people like to watch shows like If Loving You Is Wrong because you get to see other peoples downfalls and hardships.
